Matthew first became interested in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) when, as an international high school history teacher, he was teaching about Acupuncture and the development of Medicine in Ancient Chinese dynasties.

As a student at The Eight Branches College of Eastern Medicine, Matthew enthusiastically immersed himself into his studies and honed his diagnostic and therapeutic skills. He is most interested in applying TCM therapies in all areas of health and wellness but particularly senior health and wellness, mental health, addiction, and chronic pain issues.

Matthew’s style is calm, attentive, gentle, and pragmatic. He is able to incorporate various modalities along with body acupuncture into the treatment; such as Chinese Herbal Medicine, Auricular (Ear) Acupuncture, Moxibustion, Acupressure, Guasha, and Cupping, as well as Diet and Lifestyle counseling from a TCM perspective. It is now his sincerest hope now as a Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner to use what he learned to help and empower others in their pursuit of good health and optimum wellness. He is guided by the maxim, “We all do better when we all do better.”

As a native of Northern Minnesota, Matthew loves living in his adopted home of Toronto. In his free time, he enjoys cooking with his wife Rubinah (also an Acupuncturist), and long walks in the Mt. Pleasant cemetery with her and their 1 year old cat, Simsim.
